Autumn wish-list and my essentials
Autumn is my favourite season. Which is weird, because my friends know I live for summer.
However, truth is that I love this time of the year. I love London dressed in red and orange. I could spend hours just walking around the city or a random park, feeling the dry leaves crunching under my feet and enjoying the last sunny spells of the year.
It might sound silly, but the autumn air has a particular feeling to it, a taste. You want to bury your nose in a fluffy scarf, but it’s not as cold as it’s going to be in 2 months, when Christmas is gone and there is nothing between you and the general greyness of the world. That’s when you start reconsidering your life choices and you ask yourself why don’t you pack your bags and move to the Caribbean Islands. Do you remember Lucky from the 101 Dalmatians? That’s going to be me in January:
But not yet. Now it’s time for Halloween, warm colours like camel and burgundy, cosy scarves and jumpers… I think the only thing really affected by the seasonal change is actually my wallet. When I fix my closet and store away all summer clothes (mostly unused because duh, London), I feel this need to shop. That’s why I usually have a mile long wish list around this time of the year.
I’m no fashion guru, however “essential” to me means jumpers. I have a thing for cosy jumpers.
As for trousers and skirts, I mostly try to buy key pieces that I can easily use both in the office during the day and during the night if I go out. Being this London, if I’m going out during the week there is no way I have also time to go home and change.
This year I’m struggling with dresses. I had tons of dresses stored away in my wishlist, but after a very unsuccessful day of shopping, they ended up being all big nos. These are 3 dresses I still have on the list.
And of course, it’s not autumn without the right accessories.
What about you? What do you consider autumn essentials?
If you come across any interesting dresses, leave me the link in a comment. The hunt is on!
